I love cold war games,it's rich in "sci-fi",what-ifs and prototypes tha no period in history can do the same. The choice of setting for the game coming out in the late 2000s was a bold move as Cold War era stuff or Cold War "Gone Hot" games are exceedingly rare with the close of the 1990s. When I saw it I likened it to a "Red Dawn" but in an expanded setting. I wanted to try it out, but I was in a phase of my career where I was extremely busy and barely had any time off, not even time for sleep. I never played the game but saw it around from the late 2000s. So many things in this game and even today i can't find a good game that do a better job, call of duty is too hollywood, the cod soviets came out of an evil mastermin comic book, the WiC soviets are humans. Uss missouri helping the american side main character and later sinking The chinese in this setting lack amphibious capability but they are never seen in game(they want to reinforce the soviet army in seattle, the president will nuke seattle if the americans lose).īut so many things to look at and you focus on the helmet harness,i'm impressed. The american civilians starting guerilla warfare The plan to quickly find out what the hell is the star wars(the president in this game nuke cascade falls to prevent the soviets from finding out that the system is a lie)

The "blitzkrieg" maneuver of the soviets at the berlin wall, quickly taking west germany Use of container ships to hide an army and attack seattle World in conflict is about a hypothetical "world war 3" after the soviets suddenly start a global war instead of accepting their fate and crumble,i think one of the guys that wrote tom clancy red storm rising worked on this game. I even got an ammo can still with an extra cartridge belt, Y-Harness, and old school M16 mag pouches that I've. No longer had to worry about running around with the kevlar helmet bouncing around and covering your eyes, especially in prone position. Fancier helmet suspension systems for us was a mid to late 2000s dealio. The helmet harness is wrong though In that era of US military equipment, there was no strap that went from the side of the face wrapping around the lower back of the head. Old school woodland cammies, "Fritz" kevlar helmets, old style cartridge belt and Y-Harness, etc. Gotta love seeing the 1980s-1990s Cold War era stuff.
